Stelvio Pass – Italy
One of the most amazing roads to drive is set 9000 feet up in the Italian Alps and known as the Stelvio Pass. This stretch of mountain pass consists of 48 switchbacks (numbered by stone markers) and covers 15miles of mountain terrain. The fact that the road is set in the mountaints and has so many scary turns, has made it a place for adventure-seeking petrol heads and is not for faint hearted drivers.
The road itself is fantastic to drive; it is surrounded by picturesque alpine scenes which adds to the whole experience of travelling this route.
Here at HOT, we build a trip down the Stelvio Pass into a number of our driving tours; see our Events page for more details.
