The Col de Turini is one of the greatest driving roads in the world; even the Top Gear team agree with this. It is a mountain pass which is high in the French Alps, teaming stunning views with awesome hairpin bends and high speed corners. It is situated 45 minutes north of Monaco, and so definitely worth hiring a car for if you are in the area.
The Col de Turini is not for the feint-hearted as it climbs to 4827ft with a sheer drop down the side of the mountain. However, this adds to the fun and challenge of diving a road such as this.
It has been used a stage in the Monte Carlo rally for many years and, as it is held in January, challenges the drivers to the maximum with snow and ice often on the highest parts of the road.
The Col de Turini offers a mix of hairpin bends and high speed corners, so there is something for everyone regardless of your car type or driving style. We feature this stretch of road in many of our Southern France tours; see our Events page for more information.
